Wool and Folk Podcast Patio Guests 2023

Toni Lipsey

Since turning her crochet passion into a career over a decade ago, Toni has built a catalog of crafty knowledge that includes hundreds of beginner-friendly patterns and easy-to-follow tutorials. She draws her inspiration from the desire to immerse herself in a cozy life that is bursting with color. Her current obsessions are temperature blankets, Tunisian crochet, and all things granny squares. When she’s not crocheting, you can find Toni cuddled with her fur babes, Sheba the cat and Pepper the pup, as well as her husband watching true-crime thrillers in their metro Detroit home. Follow her daily crochet journey on Instagram, @TLYarnCrafts, and pick up her book, The Tunisian Crochet Handbook, and patterns on tlyarncrafts.com.

Cabin Boy Knits

Cabin Boy Knits - also know as Christopher and Jaime - creates naturally dyed yarn in our log basin deep in the Canadian woods. Our yarn basis are ethically sourced to compliment our sustainable yarn dyeing practices. We have a YouTube channel, on online store and offer experiential on-site fibre dyeing classes using Indigenous and Euro-Canadian techniques.

Jackie rose and Amy Palko

Jackie Rose is a knitter, designer, poet, and podcaster living in Madison, WI. She has been knitting for twenty five years and designing for one. You may know her Saturday Shrug pattern or her podcast, Cady Jax Knits, that she and best friend Caitlin Wedekind cohost on YouTube. Jackie has also hosted a Poetry Advent with fellow podcaster, Amy Palko, who she met, like so many of us do, online. Wool & Folk will be these two friends first time meeting in person. They are both so excited to share the ways knitting and creativity have contributed to their sense of self, style, adventure, and connection.

Adella and Jimmy Colvin

Adella Colvin is the owner and sole dyer for LolaBean Yarn Co. Jimmy is her devoted husband and pan washer! She creates custom hand-dyed luxury yarns for knitting and crocheting enthusiasts around the world.

The LolaBean Yarn Co Brand believes in and stands for diversity, inclusivity and accessibility. We strongly believe that Black Lives Matter and that equal rights and protections for the LGBTQ+ community is a fundamental right. Being a company that is owned and operated by a woman of color, it is vital that we help to bring more color into what has otherwise been a predominantly white industry.
